Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman personally handed the coveted trophy to the Team Falcons –champions of EWC 2024
The inaugural Esports World Cup was a grand showcase of elite gaming talent, featuring 22 competitions over eight weeks of intense, high-quality esports action. While many teams and players emerged victorious, none shone brighter than Team Falcons in their home city of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Competing in 18 of the 22 esports events at EWC 2024, Team Falcons displayed exceptional prowess across a variety of games. Their dominance was highlighted by 1st place finishes in the Esports World Cup: Free Fire and the Esports World Cup: Call of Duty Warzone. Their stellar performance continued with 2nd place finishes in several other competitions, including the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Mid-Season Cup 2024 x Esports World Cup, Esports World Cup: Apex Legends, Esports World Cup: featuring Rocket League, and Esports World Cup: TEKKEN 8, where Atif “ATIF” Ijaz delivered a remarkable showing.
Two months after proudly stepping into Barns Coffee role as the official sponsors of the Esports World Cup Foundation and Team Falcons, Barns is thrilled to witness our vision come to life in the most spectacular way. The electrifying atmosphere at the first-ever Esports World Cup (EWC) Club Trophy awarding ceremony was nothing short of historic, especially when His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman personally handed the coveted trophy to the champions. The exceptional victory of Team Falcons at this momentous event was truly a sight to behold, filled with inspiration and pride.
Team Falcons was one of only two organizations, alongside Team BDS, to secure multiple tournament victories at the 2024 Esports World Cup. Their extraordinary performance on home soil earned them a commanding 1st place in the EWC 2024 Club Championship Points standings. Team Falcons concluded the tournament with an astounding 5,665 Club Championship Points, far surpassing the 2,545 points of the 2nd place team, Team Liquid. Such was their dominance that the 1st place finish was clinched on August 17, 2024, more than a week before the tournament’s conclusion.
Reflecting on this historic achievement, Team Falcons CEO Mossad “Msdossary” Al-Dossary, overcome with emotion, shared his pride and joy in a stage interview: “We promised ourselves that we wanted this trophy to stay at home. Now, finally, we can say it’s home. This is for all the Saudi people. It remains in Saudi.”
